Dancing with colors.

You cannot miss the large original painting on the end wall. Painted in oil and acrylic on fine cotton canvas, this is an impressionist view of the traditional Indian Kathak dance. With beautiful coloring, the impressionist style exaggerates the emotions of love and drama associated with the Kathak dance. The piece is complimented by its contemporary silver leaf tray frame.

Style: Mandala

You will find a set of ten exquisite silhouettes located on side wall of main restaurant: a set of bespoke aluminum silhouettes, in poses reminiscent of traditional Indian dance. A mandala style pattern is then printed onto the brushed aluminum silhouettes to add interest. The silhouette figures are then floated within a black box frame with hand silvered sight edge and are set-off against a dramatic dark silk effect wall covering.

Photography, old and new.

You will notice a set of five photographic images located on the side wall in the main restaurant. Photography depicting traditional Indian culture juxtaposed by contemporary selective color saturation. This selective coloring of the images gives the artwork a modern feel whilst honoring the traditional values depicted. The frame is a tasteful “bobbled” timber with silver leaf, black paint and is hand distressed.

A dramatic, contemporary bar area.

A set of seven various sized prints are located on left hand side, pairing a very traditional framing style with contemporary finishes achieves a timeless and expensive feel for these photographic artworks. Tying in the photographic images in the main dining room, the medium of selectively colored photography has been used but this time focusing on the subject matter of historic Indian doorways; simple scenes but ones that are bursting with energy and culture due to the vibrant colors and patterns. The frames are pewter in finish, with a double white mounts and double pewter bevelled slips separating the mounts and the artwork. These pieces are then “set-off” against a dramatic dark silk effect wall covering adding a sense of drama to area.
